we had a bit of a busy day today. busy never seems to bother this one.
we made sure to make it to story time since we'd be visiting the willis fire station. always a major highlight.
here's our usual story time gang 2015.
and a year ago in 2014. huge difference! they all look like babies!
ms. devon took this picture of the kids and emailed it to me. she is the sweetest lady and does a great story time!
we got to watch one of the firefighters get all decked out. he went from this
to this is about 2 minutes.
i remember when we moved here and cody was terrified of the firemen that first summer when we saw them at the library. now he and isaac both didn't hesitate to give high fives.
after story time and a quick nap, we headed with ryan down to the airport. we had some time to kill, so the boys and i went exploring. who knew the houston airport had lots of crazy artwork, giant chess,
giant checkers,
and a fun movie about a family who created a 'rocket ship' in their back yard with stuff from around their house and blasted into space. it was right up cody's alley of favorite topics.
we had a super friendly co-pilot who took the boys up front and adjusted the seats for them to grab onto to controls.
its hard to catch isaac for a picture when he's not clearly saying 'cheese'
this time around we flew to arizona to interview in show low. they were nice enough to fly the whole family out (even though the boys just stayed with my parents who we met in globe) and let ryan fly home while the rest of us stayed for a week :)
after having lots of rental cars on our previous trips, we were surprised when they took us to the parking lot and let us pick our own car. we got to take out a dodge charger for the weekend since it was big enough to fit three car seats in the back. it was quite a smooth ride and so fun to cruise around in!
we were all pretty hungry, so we opted to stop for dinner before all the kids fell asleep in the car. we all laughed at how interested bonnie seemed in the food. she didn't take her eyes off that burger.
after meeting grandma, ryan and i drove up to show low. they had some nice gift baskets waiting for us when we got there.
even one for the kids they knew wouldn't be with us.
we had a great time exploring the many options available in show low and left with even more to think about! it would sure be easier if some of these places were just a terrible place or terrible fit for us, but they all have their pros and cons. one more interview trip in about a month and then we'll have a big, big decision to make.
