isaac has started getting a bit more into the cowboy stuff. isaac came out one day with cody's cowboy boots on and ready to ride.
to the unfamiliar onlooker, this may look like some sort of scuba/fireman/knight costume, but how could you not immediately tell that he's a ninja turtle? its been a favorite get-up for a couple of weeks now.
every time i see this picture, i think its a huge lizard that got into our house, but don't worry - its not. this little alligator was put into timeout by isaac who continued to tell him 'nose on the wall' just like he and cody hear more frequently than we'd all like.
our little friend, olivia, asks almost every time she comes over if we're going to have a tea party now because we've had so many with her and kate. why not?
isaac had his first x-rays taken at the dentist and a regular cleaning this time. most kids might get nervous, but as soon as cody climbed down, isaac climbed right up and settled in. no fear. total cooperation. they loved him. (three stickers for three good x-rays)
isaac's always so good to make sure bonnie doesn't feel left out when they're playing. i guess she must have been a little tiny mrs. claus.
bonnie and i left the boys home one saturday a couple of weeks ago to pick up our bountiful basket and run some errands. i needed my watch fixed down town and bonnie fell asleep in the ergo while they worked on it, so i figured i'd explore downtown a little. i stopped at a cute little cafe and had this fantastic salad. i'm wishing i could have another just looking at it. glad we could start mommy/daughter outings so early :)
here's one of my very favorite sights
cody and isaac like to watch the muffins cook in the mornings, so of course, bonnie pulled up a chair.
cody brought me this book to read to him one afternoon and he ended up reading almost the whole thing to me! i could hardly believe. he just started sounding out words like it was nothing!
we finally braved the heat and made it down to the splash pad in the woodlands with kimmie and her girls. everyone had a blast as usual.
i think this was the first time bonnie even sat in the stroller. we just don't use it much this time around.
we were there for lunch time, but i only had a little bag of dried fruit in my diaper bag. major mom fail. kimmie saved the day and gave my boys some of their food.
its usually so hot that we don't spend much time outside these days. we took advantage of the cloudy afternoon to have some fun outside. bonnie loved watching the boys from the bumbo.
she may be cute, but she's not so helpful when folding laundry these days. she just kept grabbing clothes that were folded and finally settled on a sock that probably needed to be washed again :/
julie was out of town a week or so ago and david had a race to run, so we went down friday night to play and then watch the girls saturday morning. maddie and i scoured pinterest for a good hair-do to try out (she always lets me do fun stuff in her hair while i'm there). this turned out pretty awesome if you ask me.
our neighbors, the ford's, have a baby about a month older than bonnie - hollie mae. we sat next to them in sunday school one sunday and the babies just loved each other.
then all of a sudden we had a little girl sitting up on her own. where did our tiny, new baby go?!
one morning when we played outside, cody came up with this lasso and actually lassoed the scooter a few times on his own. we've definitely still got a cowboy here. he just needs some new boots since he's outgrown his.
isaac's bed has a trundle under it. sometimes when i go in to get the boys up in the morning, they've made their own little beds in it and are reading books.
(not sure why isaac doesn't have a shirt on...)
and sometimes we just take pictures cuz she looks so darn cute :)
