a busy christmas-y saturday morning

around here, a solid way to figure out what's going on to to look for signs along the main roads through show low.  i saw a sign about a pancake breakfast for the scouts and a visit from santa.  we took advantage and headed out for some fun.  when we got there, the boys made some little ornaments and decorated ice cream cone trees.

while we waited for our pancakes to cook, we visited with santa.  cody told him he wants an astronaut costume for christmas.

isaac wants a puzzle.

and bonnie mostly wanted the candy cane that santa's helper was handing out.

the pancakes were delicious.  it never ceases to amaze me how much bonnie can pack away given a little time - and very large bites.

we had just enough time to get over to lowes for their kids workshop.  everyone loved the goggles they got to wear for their projects.

dad helped cody and mom helped isaac make some picture frame ornaments for the tree.

while bonnie tried out the hammer on the cart...and her head - which she didn't like much.

trying to get a decent picture to show off the finished products always proves tricky.

the kids got to keep the aprons, goggles, and little hammers, so we grabbed a box of nails on the way out and set the boys to work in the garage.
