funny how each month starts with a new hairstyle. i guess i better get practicing for tomorrow!
i had a quick orthodontist appointment one preschool morning. shelly said she'd watch bonnie, but i was running really late and decided i'd just take her with me. she just sat there looking so bored, but well behaved the whole time. everyone who came through was so impressed.
cody's class sent home a gingerbread man with instructions for the family to come up with a was to disguise the gingerbread man to keep him from getting eaten by the fox. after many suggestions, cody decided on a ninjabread man. i think he turned out pretty darn cute. i wish i could have seen all of them hanging up in the classroom!
bonnie loves going to dad's office. every time we stop by, she has to get a sticker (which dad stuck to her head) and has to stand on the scale and by the height marker on the wall. sometimes she likes to sit on ryan's nurse's lap (amanda) and color on post-its too. such an adventure.
the kids have all been loving playdough lately. cody made some muffins with black filling. he was so pround and had to show them off several times to us.
at the end of the gingerbread unit, mrs. miller sent home a recipe for ninjabread. we thought it would be fun to try, so we cooked some up and decorated. fun in theory, but nobody really loved to eat them.
dancing on dad's feet.
cody filled his behavior jar up and chose to go to mcdonald's for his dinner out with mom and dad. well, first he picked chick-fil-a, which we don't have, and then any place with a playplace - which is only mcdonald's. he loved going and playing, but i'm hoping i can talk him into some place else next time with maybe a stop at a park to play.
our poor christmas tree has been slowly failing this year. the top chunk of lights went out about the second week of december. i bought a new string to cover that area. then the next chunk went out, and the next! our poor tree had a big dark spot right through the middle. i finally just pulled out some lights back from our first years of marriage and used them instead. we actually like how it turned out. all the more reason to get a new tree next year i guess.
isaac and bonnie helped me make blackberry jam. mostly they just ate the berries, but they had lots of fun doing it.
cody made these ornaments for us this year at school. ryan got a cork reindeer and i got a snowflake made of seashells.
bonnie used to love cuties, but we can't get her to eat more than a couple segments anymore. she left one on the table after lunch and a while later she had gotten one of these little containers from 'her drawer' and put her oranges in it and on the counter - all of her own accord.
santa brought a new kitchen for our playroom and we found a new little stool at ross a few days after christmas. apparently the stool is perfect for reaching the microwave in the new little kitchen.
yesterday we ventured over to snowflake to walmart and decided to check out a park we've passed near there. it was pretty awesome and the kids could have played for hours i'm sure - if it wasn't nap time and i wasn't bored after ten minutes. cody pretty much rode the zip line the whole time - that's right. this park has a zipline. i think we'll head back next week!
