cody and i spent about 10 days in thatcher. we sure packed a lot of fun stuff in while we were there.
cody got some duckies from grandma berta to play with in the bath so we sang lots of '2 little ducks went out to play....'
(he had the runnin' rumbles for several days, so he got lots of extra baths)
we don't have any shower curtains at our house. cody thought it was so fun to play in the shower curtain while i got ready in the mornings and came out with some pretty crazy hairstyles. but no matter how crazy it got, when it dried it went right back to pointing straight to the front of his head as always.
cody was always helping grandma in the pantry and the kitchen, often trying to re-arrange all the cupboards.
grandma dedicated one drawer as 'cody's drawer' full of tupperwares and fun toys. he got to where he would go straight to that drawer and not even think twice about any other drawer or cupboard in the kitchen.
we went to visit grandpa's choir a few times, but didn't want to disrupt any more than a cute boy already does by taking lots of pictures. they made sure to sing 'cody's song' to him since he wouldn't be able to hear it at spring sing. annie, grandma, and i got to go to spring sing a couple of times and it was fantastic!
cody loved hanging out with grandpa while annie, grandma, and i went to women's conference (and any other time grandpa was home). they sing lots of songs. grandpa even got cody to start singing along to the boom-di-adda song.

grandma and grandpa got a new buick enclave. it was so roomy and nice to cruise around in while we did all our errands each day.
(i meant to take a picture of the whole thing, so the siblings could see what it looks like, but i guess i didn't get around to it)
we tried to hike to angle orchard on mt graham, but it was closed, so we just walked around a bit and had a snack break in the nice cool weather.
cody went out most days to help grandma in the gardens. sometimes they harvested herbs
and sometimes they'd pick peas.
grandma always made sure he had one to hold and gnaw on (instead of eating wood chips and rocks)
but how can you resist potato bugs when they're crawling all over the place!
i even helped out a little by mowing the lawn. it was so much easier than i remember from mowing our huge front and back lawn in wyoming.
we met annie for lunch one day at casa manana. it was cody's first encounter with a straw and he thought it was about the best thing since sliced bananas.
my mom found a recipe for a carrot face mask, so we tried it out one morning. its supposed to make you look 10 years younger. i was careful not to do it too many days in a row for fear of looking too young :)
while we waited for our masks to dry, we also 'mudded our feet' with mud from the dead sea that my mom got on their trip to israel a few years ago.
cody was just as happy as can be swinging in grandma's swing
we also went to the gym, did some temple sessions, cody went to church with just annie while i was sick, had ryan's parents over for spring sing and the temple, loved seeing daddy for the whole weekend, got lots of sewing done, went to book club, read lots of good books, did some shopping on main street, watched some new movies, and ate lots of blue bell ice cream. it was a fun and busy. so glad we could spend so many days with grandma, grandpa, and annie!!
