we picked cody up from school a few minutes early today and headed over to chet's dental office for the kids' check-ups. they had some great kids books in the waiting room the kept everyone's attention for quite a while. they couldn't even stand to leave them when we went back.
bonnie's starting to learn lots more animals and animal sounds, so she loved the farm book
the hygienist, julia, told cody his six-year-old molars are coming in and his bottom two teeth are lose. i'm sure he'll be wiggling those often like he has been since we left and until he went to bed.
hygienists always worry that the littler kids will have a hard time getting in the chair, but isaac just jumped right up there for his turn. unfortunately his thumb sucking isn't affecting his teeth. i was hoping chet could instill a little fear into him and get him to stop sucking it all together. he still does sometimes when he falls asleep.
both boys have great teeth with no cavities and perfect spacing for adult teeth to come in. hopefully we can keep their teeth healthy!
bonnie is too little for an official exam, but she was good while she waited for the brothers. she could not get away without holding the giant tooth brush that was on the shelf.
chet did have her sit in the chair and took a look at the teeth she does have. even she didn't have any problem just hopping up there and sitting nicely - although she wouldn't just open her mouth until chet got a tool to put in. she thought it was like brushing her teeth, no sense opening your mouth until there's something to put in it.
having a fun little balloon to hold didn't hurt either :)
