since ryan had labor day off, we decided to head down to thatcher for a few days. while there, the boys' only real request was to have a picnic on the mountain like we did a few months ago. we decided to stop at the apple orchard first. we had a small tea party under the apple trees before we went to pick.
bonnie lives for tea parties and definitely takes her fair share plus some if she can.
grandpa sat to read a book while the rest of us walked around the orchard to fill our buckets with apples. we ended up with quite a variety to bring home.
after the apples, we drove a little further up to our favorite picnic spot. the only down side was that grandpa couldn't make it up to the shady picnic area. we got him situated on the path leading up to it and he had a great place to watch cody and isaac tramp up and down the creek. no matter how much we asked them to stay dry, they still got plenty wet, but had a great time.
we cooked hot dogs over the fire and made banana boats for dessert.
it has definitely been fun to live closer to family so we can go down to thatcher or sierra vista easily for a weekend!
