this week was the book fair at cody's school. i went a couple of days to help out. the first day it was open, i was there in the morning and it was a mad house, but it was definitely fun.
i've been wanting to get braces to fix my crowded front teeth and other issues for a while. i finally got an appointment scheduled and on wednesday i went to get them on.
my friend, shelly, was nice enough to not only watch bonnie and isaac during my appointment, but to squeeze me in at their dental office (she a hygienist) for a cleaning the week before. when i got to their house, her oldest two girls were out getting ready to go to school. they and isaac all had boots on, so we had to take a boot picture :)
here's the before and after. its been a long time since i had braces, but the sore mouth has been very familiar.
thursday and friday was also parent teacher conferences. it was nice to talk to cody's teacher about how he's been doing. he's the only one in the class who can read, so his classmates tend to look up to him a bit in that aspect. he has trouble with talking and definitely has the maturity of a barely five year old. it is fun to see his progress already and i'm sure it will be huge growth by the end of the year.
ryan's grandpa's wife died this week, so he went down to sierra vista to be there with sean and aubrey to support his mom and dad. we thought about all going, but since only individual siblings would be there we figured it would be nice for them to have some just adult time without our kids running around.
it worked out anyone, because annie came up to visit this weekend. she's had to deal with my soft food diet a bit. it was fun to have her visit. after cody got home from school, we took the kids to the church and cody figured out how to ride the little bike with no training wheels!
we had pizza and movie night with some special monkey bread treats. yesterday, we went to the farmer's market in show low. not quite as exciting as i thought it might be since there wasn't really anything 'farmer' about it. on the way home, we stopped at a few different parks.
between our outings, bonnie had annie read 'the bear went over the mountain' about a million times.
annie had to be back for church on sunday, so she left saturday afternoon. that meant it was just me with the kids today. since we don't have church until 11, we like to have bath time in the big bathtub in the master bath. we got everyone dressed and even got some pictures of these handsome boys and our beautiful little girl!
