rock springs

after a couple of days with great grandma, i drove the kids out to rock springs to stay with beth for a few days.  annie was there, so we got plenty of good sister time.  we spent a lot of time, especially after bedtime, playing my new harry potter hogwarts challenge game.  we lost miserably over and over.  chris even fell asleep playing at least once.

we got to go on a good, brisk morning walk - good thing i got in at least one day of good exercise while we were gone.

caitlin and ashlee are in 'charlie and the chocolate factory' at the college, so we stopped to watch a bit of rehearsal.  i wish we could see the final product!  after rehearsal, chris showed us a bit of campus and i got some western wyoming community college shirts for ryan and i.

there are tons of great parks and splash pads and pools for free in rock springs, and we hit up quite a few in the days we were there.  erica stevens met us with her kids at this pool.  the slide was so fun.  bonnie loved going down, but had to have someone catch her at the bottom.

here's another awesome splash pad.  one of beth's friends met us there with her kids.  they were hilarious.

we also went to one of the school playground, where we found about 30 nerf darts scattered all over, and a park with slides about three stories high!

i love seeing beth's kids and my kids play together.  they were constantly having a great time and coming up with new games.  molly took it upon herself to be bonnie's little mother.  when bonnie took her nap in the afternoon, molly would creep up to the door over and over to see if bonnie was awake to play with her again.  we usually went in to find bonnie sleeping somewhere that was not her bed and annie and beth got a kick out of how she sings and talks to herself forever before she goes to sleep at night.

we went for frozen yogurt one afternoon for chris, caitlin, and ashlee's birthday that we'd miss.  i miss frozen yogurt like crazy since we moved to arizona and pretty much only have dairy queen.

we had so much fun in rock springs!  i'm glad we could stay for more than a quick over-nighter and that the kids could have a good chunk of time to spend together. our next stop was salt lake city.
