cruise day 3

since we had another day at sea, we decided to try out some of the non-water activities.  we started with ice skating.  we saw the ice skating show on monday, so it was fun to see the pros as they helped us get ready.

as we were getting to the end of our time, a teenage boy took a really hard spill.  he got up and was ok for a minute but then acted like he was going to collapse to the floor.  ryan went to talk to him a bit.  we all figured he probably had a concussion (it was a really hard fall).  ryan told his family some things to watch for.  we did see them several other times during the week and the boy seemed to be doing lots better.  we felt pretty bad for him.

we tried out rock climbing next.

its fun and i would have done more, but it makes your arms so tired!!

one must do for the day was the men's belly flop competition.  ryan and sean were divers in high school and used to just mess around and do belly flops for fun all the time.  they both tried to get into the contest, but there were too many people so only sean made it.  nicole and i got great seats poolside to watch.

sean ended up taking second place (even though i think his was the best...in my totally unbiased opinion).  it was a pretty hilarious competition on the whole.

we stuck around for pool volleyball (i sat and read for a while in the shade)

and caught a few more rides on the slides before dinner time.

the pre-dinner show was a kind of cirque du soleil type show.  it was ok, but elvis was our favorite.
