flying to arizona

i'm not gonna lie.  i was a little worried about flying to arizona with two little boys by myself.  i guess the hardest part was just getting from the car to check-in with two small boys, a big suitcase, and two car seats.  i was glad that it wasn't busy, so keeping an eye on wandering isaac, who wouldn't hold cody's hand, wasn't too hard.

we got cody's backpack a few weeks before and luckily it held the boys' water bottles (cody's idea) on each side and lots of toys and books inside.  we found the perfect spot to watch the planes while we waited for ours

which doubled as a table for lunch.  they were hugely distracted by the planes, but managed to eat a bit to keep themselves busy.

we were lucky enough to have a non-full flight, so isaac got his own seat instead of having to sit on my lap.  wonderfu1 :)

everything was very fun and exciting at first.

cody got very nervous once the plane actually left the ground.  he was near tears, but calmed down if i just held his hand.  grandma asked him after we landed if the plane 'scared his breath,' so that's how he told everyone after that.  he preferred keeping the shade down on the window while we were in the air.

getting drinks and snacks on the plane was very exciting.  i looked over after the boys' got their apple juice and cody was sharing with elmer.

so of course isaac had to share with monkey :)

grandma berta picked us up at the airport and we headed to annie's house (even though she wasn't there) to go swimming.  my cousin, tiffany, met us there with her three kids.  i could not believe how hot it was and the pool barely cooled us off.  mostly we were exhausted from a long long day, so we didn't last long in the pool before we were ready to get in the car and fall asleep!
