bishop reunion 2016 - day 4

after a busy day at the grand canyon, we were all glad to spend the day at the house on wednesday for the most part.  annie and beth put together a 'minute to win it' challenge.  we all had so much fun.  everyone could only win one medal, so we got to cheer everyone on in different things.

first we had to move m&ms from one plate to another using only a straw.

then we had to stack pennies using just one hand.

next we had to stack cups one at a time until we'd cycled through the whole stack (adults in the air and kids on the table - which gave them a major advantage)

then we had to sort skittles into matching cups.  molly got so confused because the color of the purple cup was not the same color as the skittle.

the last activity was mostly just the kids.  they attached a pedometer to a headband and they had to dance to see who could get the most 'steps.'  it was pretty hilarious and the kids all loved it.

ryan and i were in charge of dinner that night - dutch oven lasagna, garlic bread, and cobbler.  ryan got all the dutch oven stuff going and then got a call from one of the doctors he'll work with to tell us that there is a forest fire in the white mountains and that show low is on pre-evacuation notice.  ryan jumped in the car to go get our valuables from the house, but i called some of our neighbors and found out that our area is not in danger - so he came back.  luckily i didn't have to do too much dutch oven tending in the mean time since i don't know much about it.

while dinner was cooking, the kids headed to the park with the non-dinner-cooking adults (minus grandpa who stayed to help).

the favorite past time of the day was lining up dominoes.  the older kids set up trails of dominoes all different places with all different designs.  they even got some to go down the big staircase.

that night was bath night.  beth and chris's room had a big bathtub, so all the girls climbed in together.  bonnie lasted about two minutes.  i think it was a bit overwhelming for her.
