i can hardly believe cody is 5! david and julie came up a few days before cody's birthday, so we asked it he'd like his cake on his birthday or to share it with his cousins. he opted to have it early and we loved having them there to share the festivities (and the cake) with us!
he had a great time opening presents on his actual birthday. he got guess who? from bonnie and a puzzle from isaac.
i found this perfect rocket ship about a week before his birthday. he loved it, but was a little sad to not get an excavator or garbage truck.
isaac has a reusable sticker book from his birthday, so he pulled it out to play with cody and his new one.
it has been raining a lot the past few days. the boys have been hoping the rain would fill up their swimming pool, so we left it out. i used the rain to soak and clean our trash cans and high chair too. its not often that its raining without lightning, so i let the boys go play with their umbrellas.
cody picked to go to texas roadhouse for his birthday dinner. right after we left the house, a flash flood must have hit right over texas roadhouse. ryan got there before me and grabbed the kids out of the car when i pulled up by the front. i just had to run for it after i parked and i got completely soaked!! it was still a great dinner though
we pulled out the cake leftovers and let cody blow out the candle for his real birthday day.
cody was sure for a long time that kindergarten would start the day after his birthday (since you can go to kindergarten when you're five), but since we told him we'd take him to the space center on friday he has decided kindergarten will start next week. maybe in a few months dude.
cody's five year stats:
weight - 54.6 lbs (98th percentile)
height - 4 ft (above 99th percentile, at about 90th percentile for a 7 year old)
cody is still such a good helper around the house. he plays so well with isaac and bonnie. he can already read level 1 books by himself and is getting better every day. he loves anything to do with space and astronauts. he loves construction trucks, going to the park, having books read to him, and helping cook anything in the kitchen. he loves going to primary on sunday and asks to watch scripture stories on the ipad almost every morning.
we love our cody boy!!
