we're coming up on the bishop family reunion. grandma and grandpa planned on coming out several days early to come and visit with us. they ended up having a bit of a delay coming out with a cracked radiator that got them stuck in fort stockton overnight and to our house 24 hours later than expected. luckily our kids aren't too aware of time, so they weren't too disappointed to lose a day :)
a week or so ago, grandma showed cody a big black bag that was his birthday present. he asked to look at it every time we facetimed with them and was so excited to finally see what was inside.
first off, actually, he opened his backpack towel. isaac immediately wanted to wear his as well :)
as you can kind of see in the picture above, the big black bag was a dress up barrel. cody was so excited to look through it at all the new costumes he could try on. he was nice enough to let isaac try some on too (its really for both of them to play with).
army man
(holding the fireman vest)
sailor
woody
(he of course had to get his cowboy boots right on)
buzz lightyear
(to infinity and beyond!)
knight
(grandpa taught him that it is a shield of faith and breastplate of righteousness - which is now the absolute only thing he will call them)
a tiger
(which is only just barely isaac sized)
grandma and grandpa are amazingly nice and took cody to the grocery store just to ride this truck. he asks every single time we go and luckily is pretty satisfied just to sit on it, unmoving, most of the time.
after running a few errands and taking naps, we got decked out in new dress ups for a tea party. it was delicious!
now that we've discovered the p-6 farm, we just might take everyone who visits to go see it. grandma wanted to have some blackberries to go with her yogurt parfaits at the reunion, so that was a perfect excuse to go out this time.
we discovered the wheelbarrows this time around and had a few races.
we even made a new friend, who actually lives on the farm.
isaac wised up a bit this time and got out of the wagon to snag a few tastes.
we couldn't pass up the duck racing. it really is super fun to pump the water so that they float all the way down and back to you.
isaac did get a little worn out i think and liked just sitting in the rocking chairs before we left.
grandma and grandpa headed out to brenham from the farm for a night at a bed and breakfast and then they'll go to david's until the reunion starts. next up for us, beth and chris' family tomorrow!
