we headed up to galveston on wednesday. with all the time spent in and around water that day, we took less pictures than usual. we went to a family beach where all the seaweed has been cleared away, so it was much more fun. isaac, molly, and lily even got to where they liked to sit in the very edge of the waves and cody ventured out to play with the older girls.
we had everyone there to play and eat lunch and then mom, annie, beth, and chris hurried off with dad as chauffeur to catch their kayaking tour. david, julie, ryan, and i stayed to play for a few more hours with all of the kids. it wasn't too hard to get all of them taken care of until it came to showering and loading up. that took a bit longer than we imagined :) we got everyone situated in two vans and home just about the time the other car got home too.
naptime was a bit off with the sleeping on the way home, but what afternoon wouldn't be pleasant when you have a tea party scheduled with grandma and grandpa?
(we were lucky enough to be the recipients of this awesome tea set to take home with us!)
the kayakers brough home an especially fun treat to watch while dinner was cooking. we couldn't believe how quiet everyone was out on the porch, but it turns out hermit crabs only come out of their shells when its very very quiet.
cody thought it was less than fabulous to see their little legs come out, but he came around
ryan and i made sri lankan curries that night for dinner. we're so lucky to have been taught how to make some authentic sri lankan food from hafsa back when we lived in california!
